I am a wife, mother, dog walker, fiber artist and art quilter. I am also the state representative for Connecticut to the international art quilt organization Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA); so if you have a question about SAQA, let me know.
I make quilts, but mine are probably unlike anything your grandmother ever made (unless you had one very hip grandmother).
In my work, no subject matter is off limits, nor any construction method. Up until now, my quilts have reflected the physical, social, spiritual, and historical worlds as I perceive them, in all their beauty, complexity, simplicity and emotion. And dogs. Several of my works have been of my dog, Dutch; he should earn his keep, don’t you think?
My work has been displayed in such places as my very own living room, Grand Central Terminal and the International Quilt Festival (IQF for those in-the-know) and a lot of other places you may or may know in my home state of Connecticut, and the great USA.
You know the old “if a tree falls in a forest….” I have the same sort of thought about art: is it art if no one sees it? And my answer to that is “no.” So, I invite you to look around, and if you see something you like, let me know, okay?
