Invited to make a make a piece to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act, I turned to the internet to start my mind working on possible images. I came across the book Thunder of Angels by Donnie Williams and Wayne Greenhaw. When I read the quote attributed to Mrs. Parks, I knew what I had to do. This quilt was part of the Sacred Threads exhibit in 2015, in which Luana Rubin from equilter was so kind to blog about it. It was also juried into the show Context at The Foundry, St. Charles, MO, among other venues.
This is my first, of what was to be many more word works.
